Business from the heart.
Seen Art Foundation is a new charity organization that wants to realise projects that will benefit the welfare of underprivileged children in the world, especially in South America.
Projects are financed by private and public funding supplied by companies and governments, by auctioning art works and by organising charity, sports and business events. Seen Art Foundation is affiliated with the young and innovative commercial Seen Art company. It is important to know that 10% of the proceeds of the commercial activities of Seen Art will be donated to the Seen Art Foundation. Seen Art Foundation was granted the ANBI status by the Dutch tax authorities. Seen Art Foundation cooperates with other charity organisations to initiate and finance charity projects in a responsible and sustainable way. The board that governs the foundations is formed by professionals who, in addition to their busy day jobs, completely voluntarily give their energy to this charity. Mrs. Marie Damiaans is acting chairperson.
Projects:
After a few smaller projects in The Netherlands, Seen Art Foundation is now raising money for a first international project, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. This so-called Project 4 (www.project4.nl) is situated on the edge of the slums of ‘Nuevo Golf’ in Mar del Plata. In this area a clubhouse is under construction. This multifunctional building will includes a kitchen and a carpenters workshop. From the clubhouse activities for children will be organized, for example in the form of football and other sports. Proper food will be provided and attention given to personal hygiene and care. In the carpenters workshop, the locals will be given the possibility of learning a trade. Young families will be hired for the project. This will give them a good and steady income and will create support by the people from the slums themselves.
The establishment of the Seen Art Foundation in 2008 fulfilled a long cherished of initiator Marie Damiaans. Marie is the granddaughter of immigrants from Catalonia and was born in El Salvador. When she was 9 years old, her family moved to the United States. In 1993, love brought her to The Netherlands. Art is a major inspiration in her life and her drive is a better future for all children. Children are the future, they need our help. Using the universal language of art, Seen Art wants to initiate and fund projects that provide opportunities to children everywhere in the world. In short time, Marie has gathered a team of people who share her dreams and her passion.
